Conditions of Sale
Each Helmuth Stone Gallery auction is conducted under the terms announced with that sale. By registering to bid, in person or online, you accept those terms together with the conditions below.
Buyer’s premium
A 23% buyer’s premium is added to the hammer price for in-house purchases and 26% for online bidders. All lots are sold AS-IS, WHERE-IS with no warranty; all sales are final and there are no returns based on condition.
Payment
Payment is due within eight business days of the sale. Credit-card payments made directly to the gallery incur a 3.99% surcharge (avoided by cash, check, wire or ACH). Invoices totaling over $5,000, and all silver, gold and jewelry lots, must be paid by wire transfer. A $40 charge applies to any dishonored check.
Sales tax & storage
Florida state sales tax of 7% applies to in-house invoices and to any invoice shipped within Florida, unless a valid exemption certificate is on file. Purchased items not collected within 15 business days are assessed a storage fee of $20 per day, per item; after 90 days they are considered abandoned.
Authorship
A 30-day limited warranty of authorship is extended to the original buyer of record. These conditions are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, with venue in Sarasota County.
Payment
We accept all major credit and debit cards, bank transfers, cashier’s and personal checks, and cash. Checks are held three business days to clear.
